Bio:Janie Keilwitz, RN, MN is a registered nurse with a Masters Degree in Cardiovascular Physiology.  She has been a nurse for 34 years with experience in intensive/coronary care and heart transplant units, cardiac rehabilitation, primary cardiac prevention and oncology nursing.   She started the Heartwise Cardiac Risk Factor Program at Whidbey General Hospital in 2003 and the HeartMath program in 2013. She also works in the Cardiac and Pulmonary rehab programs.  Janie also volunteered at the Himalayan Rescue Clinic in Nepal and worked with Mother Teresa in Calcutta, India.  She has worked in Whidbey General Hospitals' Life Center since 1993.

Greening of Coupeville 4 pm. The historic buildings of Coupeville will all be dressed up in greens, white lights and red bows.  View the traditional Christmas parade - with of course Santa Claus at the end- from charming Front Street.  The Coupeville  Chamber of Commerce organizes the parade and caps off the evening with a tree lighting and weather permitting a boat parade in Penn Cove. We guarantee to bring smiles to young and old.

9 - General Dinner Meeting, Program: Guest Speaker Roberta Piercy of Coupeville-Piercy, 57, was one of 24 paddlers nationwide who were handpicked to represent the USA in the women's 50-plus division that will compete in the International Dragon Boat Federation World Championships in China in August.

23 - General Dinner Meeting, Program: Guest speakers, Marc and Mitch Aparicio  from Penn Cove Tap Room and Penn Cove Brewing. Brothers will walk us through bringing a new business to Coupeville and their development of their signature brew "Madrona Way IPA named after the scenic road along which Marc lives. They grew up in Coupeville with the goal to really, honestly support the town. With many learning experiences under their belts, they were able to travel to the Bastion Brewing facility to create their own IPA while also learning the finer details of brewing from Joe Bastion. Future plan is to find a space in Coupeville, perhaps even a barn and set up their own brewery.  They hope to use grain and hops grown locally.
